Betty Major, 92, passed away at her home in Independence surrounded by her loving family on January 31, 2016. Betty was born January 16, 1924 to James S. and Virginia Brady-Reed. Betty was preceded in death by her husband John P. Major and son Jefferey E. Anderson. Betty will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandma, sister and aunt. Survivors include her sister Joanne Kraieski, daughter-in-law Sophia Anderson, grandson Ron L. Anderson and wife Amy. Betty will be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A visitation will be held at St. Mark’s Chapel, 3736 S. Lee’s Summit Road, Independence, MO 64055, on February 9 from 10-11 AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Graveside services will follow at Mt. Washington Cemetery in Independence, Mo. Memorial contributions can be directed to Good Shepherd Hospice.
