Donald Eugene Cierpiot, 78 died December 7, 2014. He was born December 29, 1935, the son of Charles and Mildred Cierpiot. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, ELCA, 1700 Westport Rd where memorial services will be held 1PM on January 15, 2014. He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Charles Cierpiot; and sister, Nell Rosenberger. A sister, Kathleen Himmelberg and a very good, close friend, Tim Feiertag and many nephews and nieces also survive. He was a pioneer in the field of Inhalation/Respiratory Therapy. Later on in his life he became a teacher of all levels of special education. He has served on the board of Westport Cooperative Services, was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, and served as a Senior Companion. He was a writer of poetry, won awards in the Heart of America Ceramic shows. He was a member of Phase at his church and a staunch supporter of ReconcilingWorks. He also was a member of the Heartland Men’s Corus, and ReDiscover MH Services. (arr. Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 816-313-1677)
