Melanie Diane Holmes

Melanie Diane (May) Holmes, 38 of Kansas City, MO unexpectedly passed away at her home on August 25, 2016.  She was born in Kansas City, MO on March 15, 1978 to Mark and Deborah May.  Melanie graduated from Blue Springs South High School in 1995 and went on to receive a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Missouri Kansas City.  She was married to Richard James Holmes III, whom she loved dearly, on August 24, 1998 in Dallas, Texas.  Shortly after their marriage, she gave birth to an amazing baby girl, Una Marie Holmes.  Melanie treasured her friends and family.  She enjoyed history, thunder storms, music, singing, crafts, learning and researching her family genealogy.   She is survived by her devoted husband Richie, daughter Una, father and step-mother Mark and Sandi May, mother Deborah May, mother-in-law Annie Holmes and grandmother Nell May.  Surviving siblings include are Tracy, Zak, Marla and Weston (Briana). Niece and nephews are John, Logan, Lantz, Kylee, Philip and Allen Jonathan (AJ).  A private Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date for family members and close friends.
