Otto H. Hackmann

Otto H. Hackmann, 81, of Centralia, passed away Friday April 11, 2014 at the home of his step-daughter.  Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday April 27, 2014 at the Centralia United Methodist Church.  A meal will be served at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.  Otto was born May 24, 1932, in Augusta, MO to the late Otto F. and Lydia (Schoppenhorst) Hackmann. He was baptized and confirmed at the Ebenezer U.C.C. in Augusta, MO where he served on the church council for many years.  He graduated from Augusta High School in 1950 and afterwards he farmed with his father.  In 1967 he bought a farm and moved to rural Centralia, MO.  On Jan. 10, 1981, Otto was united in marriage to Deloris Harrel Lorber by the Rev. John Donaldson at Lagardo Community Church in Sandia, TX and she preceded him in death in 1997.  Otto retired from farming in 1992 following back surgery and a heart attack. He worked with the University providing land and running test plots.  Otto is survived by his sister, Erma (Herman) Brewe, nephews, Maurice (Sheryl) Brewe, Carl (Debbie) Brewe  and Larry (Darlene) Brewe all of Marthasville, MO, nieces, Jennifer (Ken) Beard of Union City, TN, Joanne (Tom) Kaimann of Hawk Point, MO and Connie Dorflinger of Columbia, MO, Step-Daughters, Mary (Tom) Lorber of Rocheport, MO, Debbie (Tim) Schwennesen of Centralia, MO and Patty (John) Krueger of Wright City, MO as well as six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that gifts in memory of Otto Hackmann be made to the Childrens and Youth Ministries of Centralia United Methodist Church.
